Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain was born on the 24th of March, 1977. She is an American producer, actress and model. Most famous for her roles in films with feminist themes, she has received numerous accolades which include an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential people globally in 2012. Chastain began to develop an interest in acting at a young age and made her stage debut in 1998 as Shakespeare's Juliet. After studying acting at Juilliard School, she was given a talent deal with John Wells. She was frequently a guest on several television shows and also played a variety of roles in stage productions. Chastain's debut film was Jolene (2008) when she was 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough with six films, including The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011), and The Tree of Life (2012). She was awarded Academy Award nominations for playing an uninitiated socialite in period drama The Help (2011) and a CIA analyst in the thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015) were commercially more successful than the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain's strong-willed performances in dramas A Most Valuable Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), Molly's Game (2017) and Scenes from a Marriage (2021) were also highly acclaimed. After playing Tammy Faye Bakker, she received the Academy Award for Best Actress and Tammy Wynette in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (21), respectively. Chastain is the founder of production firm Freckle Films, which was designed to increase the diversity of filmmaking, and is an investor in the soccer club Angel City FC. She is vocal about mental illness, gender equality and racial equity. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo (fashion executive) is her husband.
